PART II

Joining the EU?

The following websites will help you research ONE of the candidate countries so you can decide if it should be admitted into the EU.

When researching, review the Criteria for how a country can become a member of the European Union.

In question 4 you researched the three countries that have applied to join the EU. In question 5, you researched the criteria a country needs to meet to be able to join the EU. Now you will do research on ONE of those countries from question 4 and write a report either recommending the EU accept that country or decline to accept the country to join.   400 word minimum.

MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE THE CRITERIA TO JUDGE WHETHER THE CANDIDATE COUNTRY SHOULD BE ADMITTED INTO THE EUROPEAN UNION.

**IN ORDER TO SCORE ALL 10 POINTS FOR THE REPORT SECTION OF THE ASSIGNMENT YOU NEED TO REFER TO ALL THREE OF THE CRITERIA FROM THE COPENHAGEN EUROPEAN COUNCIL.
